Abstract
The polygraph and Computer Voice Stress Analyzer are psychophysiological detection of deception examinations used by law enforcement agencies in order to determine an individual’s truthfulness. There has been an on-going debate between polygraphers and supporters of the Computerized Voice Stress Analyzer regarding the reliability of the Computerized Voice Stress Analyzer as a means of detecting deception. The purpose of this paper is to review the current information available to determine if the Computerized Voice Stress Analyzer is as reliable in detecting deception as the polygraph.
