Abstract
Hospitals must maintain accurate patient health records in order to provide quality care and service. A paper-based record system is not only prone to errors, but is often time-consuming and costly to maintain. Community Hospital of Long Beach is seeking to move away from their paper-based record system towards an electronic database system in order to better meet their organizational goal of achieving total quality management and care. This study presents information on how Radio Frequency Identification technology can help the hospital streamline their patient record keeping process and improve their quality of service.
