Abstract
I present my research in this study in three chapters. The first chapter is the literature review, which examines the relevant books and articles regarding docents and docent programming. This includes docents as adult learners and lifelong learners to understand the docent perspective as presented in the literature; and it includes visitor studies and the docent's impact on visitors to comprehend the docent coordinator's view of the program as a museum staff member. The second chapter discusses the findings discovered from the survey results and the information gathered from the case studies. The third chapter presenting my research is a comprehensive guide to the best practices of docent programs, with the information collected throughout the study included to create a revised view of docent programs.
