IT'S TIME TO MEET THE FAMILY An Orientation to the Family Audience for Museum Educators

Abstract

The purpose of this Master's Project was to provide an introduction for museum educators to the family audience. This family audience orientation consists of chapters that discuss various concerns when developing programming for families and includes sample programs from museums nationwide. For the purpose of this project, family programs will be defined as any museum program that is developed for children and adults to learn together. The orientation gives examples and suggestions on a wide variety of programs and is applicable to museums of all disciplines.
