Abstract

"Passage Through A Dark Zone" is an installation of sculptures which all make individual statements, yet also interact as a group, forming a whole that expands its separate components. Percieved as a type of spiritual ordeal, this interaction encourages personal and artistic synthesis--a crucial factor for evolution in either area. Through its symbolic integration of form and content, its unique dependence upon the sensory world, art offers us an experience of profound implications. Thus, it can become, for artist and viewer alike, a kind of spiritual path, one which parallels our own passage through life.
