The purpose of this project is to explore how children's museum exhibits can present serious topics to children and family audiences. To accomplish this, this project examines the evolution of children's museums, their exhibits, and a current issue affecting the lives of children--gun violence. The product accompanying this project is a set of guidelines to assist children's museum exhibit team members in the development of exhibits dealing with serious topics, oftentimes considered controversial, based on a hypothetical plan for an exhibit on the danger of guns.
