Abstract
The original goal of this body of work grew from my desire to create substantial three-dimensional forms. My previous experiences with textile techniques were two-dimensional. I decided that the key to three-dimensionality, because of my special interests, was the combination of twodimensional techniques. Because I wanted to utilize several techniques, the idea of constructing a single structure from the combination of identical elements seemed a natural, logical beginning. With this came the possibility of creating forms from a series of elements that could be taken apart and reconstructed at a later date into another type of form.
