dc.description.abstract"Inside Out," a large spiral, hut-like sculpture/installation is made from tree branches and handmade paper. The interior and exterior surfaces are derivative of the clay and tree branch houses of rural Brazil. The sculpture creates an intimate place which the viewer is able to walk into, around, and through. This spiral structure is the culmination of my recent work in the John F. Kennedy University, Master of Fine Arts program at Fiberworks, Center for the Textile Arts. It grew out of my childhood memories, my dreams, and my awareness of my female sexuality and womanhood.
