Abstract
From time to time, minor league baseball players experience incredible moments of mental, physical, and spiritual harmony in which they perform at a superior level. Many baseball players refer to this phenomenon as being in the - zone. These experiences are one of a kind and can also be classified as an athlete's "greatest moment" while participating in sport (Ravizza, 1977). The field of sport psychology is responsible for the majority of studies investigating this phenomenon of peak performance. Peak performance has been defined as "behavior that transcends or goes beyond predictable functioning...a superior level of behavior" (Privette, 1981). The purpose of this study is to examine the subjective experience of twelve minor league baseball players regarding their personal peak performance and organize this data into commonly occurring themes.
