Abstract
This paper examines Eugene B. Sagan's concept of Multiple Selves and its clinical applications. The author drew upon her training with Sagan, others' experience with Sagan in therapy, and Sagan's private writings, to articulate the Multiple Selves concept. Ten clients were interviewed, and information was obtained as to the outcomes of therapeutic work based on this concept. Therapeutic goals and techniques derived from the Multiple Self concept were outlined. The value of this framework to the clinician, as well as some of its controversial elements, were discussed.
