Typical food allergy treatment focuses on food avoidance and does not address underlying issues that a person with food allergies may be facing. The Health at Every Size (H.A.E.S.) approach promotes a balanced and healthy relationship with food, people, events, and the body. Tools for nutrition consultants are offered that are informed by the H.A.E.S model and seek to address the underlying issues present in food allergy sufferers. Characterizations of Restrictors and Over-indulgers are defined and can be used to individualize consulting tools.
