Abstract
My exhibition, "Soaring Reflections," is a series of freestanding sail forms made of handmade flax paper. The works are direct responses to my involvement with sailing and symbolize feelings of freedom and the knowledge that we have the skill to transform negativity into strength and positive responses.
Just as a sailboat is propelled by the wind and the elements, we can propel ourselves through life with the awareness that we have the ability to rise abcve the struggles and complexities placed in our paths daily, either by outside forces or self-imposed constraints.
My exhibition is a celebration of love and life, honoring the concept that by learning to love ourselves, we can learn to live and go forward without fear.
