Abstract

This researcher will pursue to discover what other causes have increased female killers over 30 year span from 1980s to the present. During this time, there were cultural changes that were taking place since more women were taking on working roles to survive even if they have children or not. Earlier on, society has stereotyped females to be in a domestic position where they are vulnerable or submissive. Years later, women were considered serial killers on same capacity as their male counterparts. Finally, women serial killers have come to the surface more where some are being reported due to their patterns of behavior and motivations for the crime they commits. The perception of women has changed over time and as this researcher will reveal information of the causing factors that made women to commit crimes. As the research is further researched inquiring their motivation of becoming female serial killers, conclusively there was a comparison from the Miichenie and Aamodt’s comparison chart (2005) depicting 50% of women who became serial killers show psychological disorders and 36% show physical abuse to the researchers’ comparison chart depicting subjects studied showed 100% of women had psychological disorders and 77% showed women having been physically abused from childhood. Therefore, Hypothesis ] has not been proven but Hypothesis 2 has been proven.
