Abstract

Addressing the organizational issue of creating and marketing relevant, respectful, and appropriate exhibitions and programs for minority cultures requires the investment and commitment of all museum departments. I believe that realistically, all three of the ideas outlined in this project must be implemented in order to begin to address this issue. With an already very full roster of exhibitions, and with very real pressures to exhibit revenue-generating shows, the action plan I have outlined will be no easy task. However, I do think the steps in this plan can realistically be accomplished, and will help the Fine Arts Museums better achieve its mission of making high quality exhibitions accessible to the "broad audiences" and "diverse public" it aims to serve.
