Abstract

From the elements I evolved the formal abstracts of my thesis: An exploration of the interaction of the concept of motion and stillness with the dynamics of the two dimensional plane and three dimensional effects. The grid or combination of grids will be used as the basis of composition with complementary colors. After the issues were defined, elements selected, objective and subjective definitions made, I began to work with my givens. I anticipated the beginning of a complicated set of interrelated processes. The issues and elements would hopefully inspire deeper levels of thought. Problems would, in the process of being solved, present future problems. The issues would be explored until they were solved and exhausted. This process, or stripping, is the dynamics of my art. I believe that no matter how disturbing the question, the process and its resulting answers are the positive integration of the artist and his life.
