Holistic professionals practicing in traditional environments face a number of challenges. Using the case study of a wellness coaching internship experience working with individuals who were focused on weight management, this paper explores the problems created by the conventional medical approach that encourages weight obsession and dieting. Solutions to eliminate these problems are available in the holistic paradigm. These same solutions can be used to build bridges between the holistic and conventional paradigms in order to create a more effective integrated paradigm.
