Abstract
The intent of this thesis is to implement a holistic, systematic program that integrates peer mediation and multicultural education. This program will train students to mediate student conflicts and recognize when conflicts may be based on cultural differences. The whole school population will have an opportunity to increase multicultural awareness through multicultural education and celebrate cultural similarities and differences through the curriculum and the multicultural club. The foundation of this pilot program is a peer mediation and diversity training program teaching selected students mediation skills and cultural awareness. In addition to training a select group of students, other students were involved in multicultural curricular activities that took place in the classroom and a school wide multicultural club.
