dc.description.abstract | Thirty-one collegiate student athletes were used in this study. Their ages ranged from 18-21 years of age. Seventeen males and fourteen females were studied. The 31 participants were injured collegiate athletes. The Bredemier Athletic Aggression Inventory (BAAGI) was used to measure the athlete's levels of instrumental and reactive aggression. In this quantitative study the independent variables were difference in duration of injury, ethnicity, number of times an injury had occurred, reactive aggression scores, and instrumental aggression scores. To analyze the data, t-tests, and analyses of variance (ANOVA) were used. The results showed a trend towards athletes with higher levels of reactive and instrumental aggression taking less time to rehabilitate from an injury. Results were discussed and implications were given. | |
