Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify interventions and treatments currently employed to work with youth struggling with issues of screen dependency. A content analysis was utilized to explore a variety of areas of screen dependency and the implications of this, followed by an examination of four current treatment programs for youth. One treatment approach was an in-patient private facility, the other three were treatment modalities that can be put in place in the community with a support team. This analysis shows the ways in which screens are impacting youth today, and offers some suggestions as to the underlying risk factors and potential outcomes, as well as possible steps for intervention.
