The purpose of this thesis is to encourage a balanced, holistic, trans-theoretical approach to the treatment of adoption related trauma by proposing an integration of openness, psycho-education and appropriate therapeutic modalities (Rogerian, Art, Family, Mindfulness, Existentialism). Proposals set forth underline the need for a shift to a more open and encompassing perspective of the adoptive process that orients or weights the priorities of the adoption experience in favour of the child, as well as the ongoing discourse within the adoption triangle that seeks to harmonize the systemic, anecdotal and personal paradigms. Literature review and conceptual analysis are employed as the research methodologies
