Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the changes in organizational culture and the impact of those changes during the entire process of a merger or acquisition from pre-merger due diligence through post-merger integration. Much of the culture research on mergers and acquisitions is fragmented and typically focuses on post-merger integration. Therefore, it was valuable to examine the mergers and acquisitions as a whole, interconnected process including the impacts on and influences by the people involved. The results of this study are important for organizations engaging in mergers and acquisitions as well as Organization Dynamic consultants assisting companies.
