Abstract

In Part I, I outlined my approach to strategic management, which focuses on designing a system of fit, finding flexibility through the learning process, and networking for the future. Using these three strategies, organizations can prepare for inevitable change and uncertainty by positioning themselves for greater adaptability and survival. One practical approach to this philosophy is illustrated by the San Francisco Bay Area Emerging Arts Professionals (SFBAEAP), a network focused on empowerment, leadership, and growth of next generation arts and culture workers (Emerging Arts Professionals- About Us). Using SFBAEAP as a case study, I will analyze their business model and discuss solutions to their current financial challenge. Lastly, 1 will suggest ways that museums can draw on this network and its resources in order to respond to a changing nonprofit landscape.
