Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the attitudes of regular education teachers toward inclusion. A questionnaire was developed and disseminated to 85 teachers at two elementary schools and one middle school in three separate school districts, with responses received from 45 teachers within the population. The research indicated that the majority of teachers generally held positive attitudes toward inclusion but did not feel that it should be the only placement option for students with special needs. The research also gave insight into what the teachers felt were barriers to the implementation of effective inclusion.
