Abstract
A descriptive phenomenological study, based on a modified Giorgi analysis, was conducted on the challenges of coming into wealth. The data was drawn from four one-hour interviews with women who have come into wealth as adults. Raw data was taken from the beginning, middle, and end of the interviews and transformed for descriptive phenomenological meaning. Discussion of challenges includes the effect of one's upbringing and culture on the response to wealth; how to balance what wealth offers with one's values; how to raise children to be successful adults; and navigating old and new relationships after coming into wealth.
