Abstract
The main purpose of this project was to develop a report on the importance and need to recruit, train, and integrate people of color as professional staff within museums. This study focused on current trends, practices, and policies in museums across the country. The project form was a nationwide survey of museums, with the end product being a written report to museum professionals reviewing the survey results. Background information on the history of the United States work force, hiring practices in the United States, and hiring practices in museums will provide an overview of the issues for the reader.
