Abstract

Due to employment inequality and gender discrimination, the women's movement of the 1960s attempted to empower women as they entered the workplace. The feminist message was: to compete in the masculine dominated business world women must imitate the characteristics and behaviors of the men that surround them. This masculine role-playing has lead to a breakdown of the feminine psyche resulting in female roleconflict, loss of female power and a disconnection from the authentic feminine. Business consultants are attempting to infuse feminine attributes into the existing business model but until the power of the feminine is fully understood and women are free to fully embrace their power, business may remain status quo.
